Misthold Keep
Misthold Keep (Township link) lies within the Free Kingdom. We are seeking Adventurers and Gentry to join with us in Misthold or within our allied towns. We are seeking an additional Aristocrat or two to build a larger network of allies for our mutual defense.
We are trying to obtain a countship so that we control our land table in game. This will allow us to help more people have a stake in the County. Additionally, we will be able to channel our joint resources for the mutual protection of our people, and the greater benefit of our community.
[ADDENDUM: The following was written just after the Free Kingdom campaign was started in October. The Free Kingdom seems much more stable after a couple of months of campaigning, and there is a much greater chance that Misthold will be located within the domain of a supportive Duke. We will still have challenges, but large scale chaos seems less likely.]
How does this fit into the greater “Free Kingdom”? No clue, as I can not see into the future, but it will be fun to play.
Will we be in open revolt against Xeilian Overlords or with a Duke with totally different ideas? Will we be in alignment with a loose affiliation of new Nobility? Will the Free Kingdom immediately turn into an internal free for all?
How close to the neighboring kingdoms will the County be situated and how attractive of a target will we be for invasion?
The Free kingdom will probably have last pick of tribes and locations. How will we turn this situation into an advantage?
All interesting questions, but more importantly this background should provide us with wonderful back drop to start the game, and plenty of lore to work with as we build our Elyrian journey.
It seems very difficult. It sounds very dangerous. It requires us to work together. It provides us with plenty of challenges and a slew of common foes. It will not be boring, and there is plenty of opportunity for glory. Heroes are definitely required.
What more could you ask for?
We have been offered a great opportunity. What will we make of it?
So again I ask “Will you stand with us? Do I speak for you?”
