“While the Concierge's purchase of Montacker was well documented, in triplicate, his acquisition of the neighboring county of Bridgeolive has always been a bit of mystery. Some say he made a deal with a demon for it. Others that he lead a peasant revolt or that he had the previous owner assassinated after they were wed. The truth is much tamer, but odd none the less, The neighboring count had what one could characterize as a bit of a gambling problem. After a particularly bad run of a luck and a few too many drinks at a certain proprietor's establishment said count's title found it's way into the Concierge's hands. That's how Cálánor became a Grand County - a single poorly played hand of cards at the end of a very long night.”

Rules
There are three Cardinal Rules in Cálánor:
- Mutually agreed upon explicit Contracts are enforced above all.
- Safety and Self Determination for all. (Murder, Thievery, Travel Restrictions, etc... are illegal and Don't Be a Dick.)
- Right to Petition the Count.
Government
Local government is led by the count, Duffy de Concierge, who is advised by two bodies: the Citizen's Assembly and the Mayoral Council.
The Mayoral Council is made up of all the mayors in Cálánor, to receive any county benefits a settlement's mayor must participate in the council. Members are responsible for regularly reporting their settlement's growth, financials, and any other information regarded as pertinent to running the county. County wide goals and directives will be discussed and voted upon by the mayors as proposals are presented to the council.
The Citizen's Assembly consists of every soul that resides within the county's borders. They will be polled regularly to gauge the satisfaction of the populace and to get feedback on county wide proposals before they are finalized.
Taxes
Funds are necessary to maintain the county and kingdom's infrastructure and thus land owners and businesses will be required to pay taxes. These funds are for the betterment of the whole, not to enrich those governing. The county budget will be presented to and debated on by the Mayoral Council. Additionally, a reserve will be set for emergencies and special projects, the latter of which will be determined by special votes brought before the Mayoral Council.
