I hope eventually CoE will expand to modern age, post modern and...

...space age!

With some ingenious player-driven & dev-accepted innovative content creation... we'll have flying spaceships and off-planetary civilizations, probably in a few Elyrian centuries...

Looking forward to this! :)

Remember the story (game) will only run over a 10-year periode, and it'll most likely not hit anything further than "badly-accurate" muskets if we choose to go that route. Though players of course dictate what direction to go, but don't expect anything modern.

Though they could possibly make a new game set in that timeperiode, but I would not hold my breath. We might see a steam-punk CoE in the far far future, but we're talking many years from now :)

This is at least of what I remember, I might be wrong so don't take anything at point blank value :)

If the studio is successful they're keen on pumping out some more stuff in the Elyrian universe.

No. Just....no....

At some point, despite being a MEOW, CoE is still part of a genre.

If I want to play a modern game, or a space game, or a futuristic game...I'll go look for those games. A large reason I am interested in CoE is the "genre" it is focused on:

Low Fantasy

As much as I enjoy playing space aged games, I sincerely hope that CoE doesn't go anywhere near the modern age.

No for CoE, but yes to using the engine and concepts in a future based game.

If the concept of a MEOW proves successful then I'm sure other developers will adapt it into their own games. I guess we'll soon see a post-apocalyptic MEOW game with zombies. :D

You can have low fantasy, hell even high fantasy in a modern setting. The mask is one, all the superhero movies is another. then you have the more down to earth ones that are low fantasy like fringe or medium. Then you have modern day things with Celtic fae and other stuff. Dark underworld where they practice wicca. The Magicians, is another high fantasy in modern setting. Then you have skies of arkadia, Final Fantasy 15, and some of the other final fantasy games. Sabrina the Teenage which. The chilling adventures of sabrina.

I'd find that very unlikely. As mentioned, it's a 10 year story. We're not going to see 1500-plus years of invention in that time.

FWIW, I was KS Backer #21 and wanted nothing but the best for this game.

Not to mention its unlikely you would stick around in a game for 10+ years ahaha.

Oh, welcome to the forums by the way!

Thank you for your replies. I'll stick around these forums and if anything goes well, maybe I'll get accepted into an european guild, to start building and advancing our empire! :)
