The port gets its name from an ancestral legend of a boy named Mauricius Coloma who, after leaving Haven to become a famous sailor, fended off a sea monster with just a dagger. The ship was destroyed in the battle and Mauricius found himself washed up on shore. He believed his luck to be a sign from the Gods. He decided to create a port from the shore he was so lucky to find.
The port is nestled in the Northern parts of the The Kingdom Of Ashland and is in the County of Arden. The goal of the Port of Coloma is to work hard to build ships for all manners of tribesmen willing to exchange coin for quality workmanship. I want to see this port grow into something bigger than myself and am hoping to cultivate wealth and prosperity by encouraging the settlements of crafters, and artisans alike. After all, a port should be more than a rest stop or a watering hole. It should be a place to hang your hat, raise a family and make a legacy worthy of the name Coloma!
Coloma is managed by the Mayor, Tange Coloma, a distant relative of the fabled boy of legend. It is committed to the rules of the law and the preservation and advancement of knowledge. Any citizen of Coloma should believe in maintaining a large and diverse library of understanding for the purposes of developing craftsmen and scholars that ultimately propel the betterment of our society. It is protected and fortified by the Duchy of Fioralba. All day-to-day issues are handled by Tange through the laws dictated by the Royal Council.
The Port Of Coloma will be in Kingdom two. I am interested in developing strong trade networks that allow for easier dissemination of merchandise and supplies, primarily through the shipping industry. Due to our size, we will continue to lean on our Duchy for military protection and fortification. As the port grows, we will seriously consider the need to protect our trade routes.
