† Gravestones & Donations

For every purchase of the "Headstone Name & Message" a la carte item, Soulbound Studios will donate $25 (50%) to the International Association for Suicide Prevention.

When we first created the Headstone Name & Message reward as part of our Kickstarter, we anticipated players creating fun and entertaining headstones like you'd see at Disneyland; with content like: "Here lies good old Fred; a great big rock fell on his head," and while that's certainly a lot of peoples' intentions, we also received wonderful emails and PMs from people explaining how they planned to use the headstone to honor and remember lost loved ones.

We were touched by the cathartic use of the backer reward and decided to show our sympathies and support by doing more with the a la carte reward. We did some research and found that, in addition to our own personal experiences with depression and suicide, according to the World Heath Organization, suicide as a global phenomenon is on the rise and is the cause of more than 800,000 deaths per year.

So when you help us by buying a Headstone item, you're also helping the W.H.O. and other organizations to spread information about depression and suicide, so people understand how it affected the lives of those we've lost, and the lives of those who are left behind.

I don't intend to buy them at the moment but it would be useful to know what crests will be available in the normal CoA and what would be available in the expanded CoA

Logain - 1 year ago

In the description of the early access/Alpha items, it states: 'Start testing CoE 12-18 (18+) months before Exposition. Gain (...) access to our UE4 client and VoxElyria'. Is the predicted timeline of 12-18 month before Exposition in relation to the UE4 client, or VoxElyria?

Hi, I am looking at purchasing the Alpha-1 package ($155.00), but I cannot click on the blue button as it is greyed out. Does this implies I have to first purchase something else, like a certain pledge before?? Thanks! :)

To buy an a la carte item you need a package first, I think it has to be bloodline minimal but not 100%

Sir_Skylos - 1 year ago

A quick question, sorry if it's already been asked.

If I buy another trison will it be a random sex too, if so will you be releasing breeding pairs as profession packages?

From Caspian, you will be able to pick between male or female with your token(s).

Got bored and did a little discount breakdown of a la carte items vs package items. Dunno if it's useful to any of you but helps me determine if i should buy item a, b, d, f or spend an extra 5, 10, 15 bucks for another package.

It's listed as "minimum discount" because i'm only strictly calculating items that have a price in the a la carte.

This is all assuming i did my math correctly...I'm sure i'll be corrected if not :p. Anyway, here's the breakdown.

It might be worth clarifying what the discount represents, as (to me at least) it's not obvious -- after all some of the discounts you list are over 100%!

Using the numbers you give for the item values for some of the packages I looked at how much of a discount the package represents compared to the sum of the individual items, and they're somewhat different.

For example:

Where does "Early Access Forum Access to the exclusive developer's forum" come in?

That included in Magistrate and above, so does the new "Alpha 1" include it?

Yes, buying Alpha 1 in the a la carte will give you the Early Access forum; the Exclusive Access requires at least 10,000 IP ($1,000) to gain entry or the Courtier package above.

Well, I'm not sure about how I feel about those news. Especially for the User Generated Content. Until now, it seemed like a nice bonus for high priced packages. No more.

Well you do really get bonus EP, since $100 gives you 1250, not just 1k. Unless you are meaning the one year sale where $200 gave you 3k EP.

Sorry if this was already posted. I read through and saw a lot of great questions about pets and horses but didn't see my question. Are we able to chose the gender? or will it be possible to get two of a pet and not be able to breed them because you got the same gender? Thanks,

In particular, packs, pets and mounts would seem to be easily transferable, and would be useful to friends that are starting with an Elyrian package.

You will need to buy a Gentry Package (Bloodline, Settler, Proprietor) or above to have access to Exposition.

Dareus - 1 year ago

Previously in Caspian's post about EP Kits and Item Projection, it was mentioned that mounts and pets could be purchased for EP. Now there is a direct purchase option.

Is the intention to provide both purchase mechanisms moving forward or is the direct purchase option meant to supersede the previously presented EP version?

If we already receive a Villa or Manor as part of our package (which are linked to our title) and we purchase one through A La Carte, would that one be completely separate?

ie. Not linked to any titles, so if we step down or are deposed, that it would stay as our own possession, only losing the one that's linked to our title.

As mentioned in Caspian's post, some items have a limit. Manors and Villas have a limit of 1, so you couldn't buy a 2nd one. Players who already own a manor or villa can wait for the EP store and purchase something else then.

If i want to merge two accounts with a manor on each accout, would that mean i lose an item 200$ worth or would i get EP/Store credits instead?

Merge Accounts & Keep Everything

If you have multiple packages with the intention of combining everything into one mega-account, here is what you'll get:

Account Rewards: EP, Sparks, and Souls will stack Character Rewards: Packs, Transportation, & Pets stack Kingdoms, Duchies, and Counties don't stack, but instead become double domains. Settlements become 2x in size. Bonus Rewards: All will stack Total Influence: Will be the sum of both account's influence (minus any referral bonus for referring your own account - don't do that)

This is from the week 4 kickstarter hopefully it kinda helps to figure out what you're looking for (:

Then will it still be possible for a peasant to earn a coat of arms and all the extensions during the 10 year story line? Will there be a mechanic to create your own coat of arms or will it be appointed to you when you reach a sufficient rank?

TL;DR; Yes. It's possible in a few different situations to create new surnames, and thus a new or derived Coat of Arms.

Coat of Arms are associated with every unique Surname. So if you do something in the game to allow for the derivation or creation of a new Surname, then you'll be able to either create or derive a new Coat of Arms.

Example 1. You get married. Your current surname and your new surname are combined to create a new surname. You can use your existing coat of arms to create one that is unique to your new family.

Example 2: You slay a mythical creature and become a hero of legend. You'll have the opportunity to create a new surname like Daemonsbane, etc. This will allow you to create a new coat of arms with expanded charges that match the creature you'd slain, etc.

ZeroCool - 1 year ago

Thanks for the additional reply and source Xeyska. It surely makes sense that horses of differing quality (common-legendary) could be bred together but with differing success rates and outcomes depending on the combination and the skills of the player. Although I'm sure other variables could also be put in place; time of year, diet, climate.

All animals/mounts can be bred if you have the skills for it or find someone who does.

As many people asked before regarding the Coat of Arms, same thing applies to Housing: If you already get the furnished Villa as part of the Package, could I just pay the difference (200-120=80$) to upgrade it into a Manor?

There will be no discounts for existing packages.

Caspian on Discord mentioned this:
"We're not planning (at this point), to allow people to purchases packages and then trade in the items they don't want for EP or store items, effectively allowing them to do a la carte from the other direction - gaining access to titles, dev access, or design experiences."

Are you sure about this? The description in the store still says "A purebread horse for breeding or travelling" making it appear that there is this distinction between the Purebred\Purebread (wholemeal or rye?) and the horse with saddlebags.

Will I be able to breed the plain ol' horse that came with the saddlebags with the purebred or will it be purbred+purebred only?

There is a clear distinction between them, purebred horses will have better breeding stocks than horses along with being easily trained. [Source]

As for breeding them together? I say it is likely they can since they are the same species, you will just have an easier time with the purebred horse if you want quality mounts. Though another official dev confirmation would be nice on this subject.

No, I would say not; only pledges which qualify will have access to it. Exposition is about building up the world, and much of it (in theory) should be consider a final development state before Launch. Minus bug-fixing, and content updates in the background.

The text under the heading "Alpha & Beta Access" also says "before Exposition..."

The pet tokens are not limit 1. You can buy 5 tokens and get one of each, or - since the pets all have random patterns and coloring, you can buy multiple to get a breeding set.

The Phoenix was a 6th pet made available exclusively to Kickstarter backers and those who backed us on the online store for the first couple of months. Phoenix pets cannot be chosen with this a la carte item.

RE: The horses - We previously used the term purebred to indicate it was of higher quality. However, we wanted to be more descriptive about how it was higher in quality. We've done this by calling it a Courser. We will be updating the item in the store at the same time the a la carte items go on sale. It will say "Purebred Courser" just like the a la carte item.

So the mayor package already comes with: Custom Coat of Arms, Expanded Colors, Expanded Sigils, and Heraldry - "Include Torse & Crest."

So the only thing a mayor/baron (or higher) could purchase, in regards to coat of arms, is the expanded crests? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yep.

Is the mayor package slightly different for earlier backers? From what I saw in my profile, my package did not include expanded colors and sigils. However, the current package in the store clearly included these features, so I am baffled now.

The 250$ tier in kickstarter did Include the expanded sigils, colors, and crest. If they are not listed in your inventory ---> do as Sauska recommended. Just note that the package you have, if it was the 250$ one should include all 3 options.

The easiest way to ask about this is via contacting their support or serp. Because if I'm not mistaken for kickstarters it may have been slightly different. I would ask them to be sure ^.^ [email protected]

At what point will we know what's in each package? I don't want to get the expanded crest pack just to find out that the crest I wanted was in the basic pack anyway.

Do you mean the new package, or the one you already bought? Because for the latter it's available in your profile right now.

I'm talking about the actual items in the expanded sigils and expanded crest items. What are those? What's the difference between them? What comes in each pack?

Gonna buy a headstone and carve "RIP Tab-targeting MMO's" on it.

I thought Caspian said in the CoE Discord that whatever you bought from EP or A La Carte was not included in your title, and that whatever you bought could be placed anywhere, and that if you lost your title you wouldn't lose your EP/A La Carte items. You would only lose your Title Residence. Is this true?

Also - If, again as Caspian has said, your title residence is owned by the Title/Rank like a Governor's House or The White House, how does "occupying" one that way prohibit you from buying a similar residence from the Menu or with EP and placing them anywhere? The "Title Residence" Is never really yours -- it is bound to the rank and not really the account. So you don't "OWN" it.

If we already have Alpha II access from buying a pack (and It'll cost 250$ minimum to get the next pack for Alpha I Access.) Will buying the Alpha 1 access cost the full 155$ as stated in here, or will having Alpha II access give me some kind of discount?

Edit: Like, can I pay the difference between Alpha II and Alpha I (90$)

Note that some items have a limit of 1 per account, and may have requirements. There are no discounts provided for existing package owners.

Caspian

I would say that There are no discounts provided for existing package owners.

this makes no sense.

I thought that too, but It kinda does make sense. Currently the price difference between Mayor and Magistrate (the lowest Alpha I package) is $250. If you already have Mayor and buy Alpha I a la carte, you're still saving $95 over buying the next package.

I don't believe you'll be required to buy the full price of another entire package, for instance if you bought the "Bloodlines" package like I did, and decide you want to upgrade to the next tier.

Then, as I'm looking at it literally right now. You will only need to pay $55 to upgrade, where buying it initially to start would cost you $175. Hope this helps Fitzori.

This is a frequent question.
When you're talking about pledge packages only, then it's true that you only pay the difference of what you've paid for your previous pledge and the one you want to upgrade to.

However, for the items mentioned here it will be the full price as no discounts are granted by existing pledges:

"There are no discounts provided for existing package owners."

from the OP as stated directly below the table.

The way I see it, alpha and beta access are a major part and value of the pledge packages and also have to be somewhat limited to a reasonable number of testers per stage.

I see you made some much needed changes to the higher tier horse and changed it to a courser instead which is more fitting 😍

Heraldry - Expanded Colors, sigil and crest

Is this exclusive (aka. I need to purchase it here) or in what package is this included?

Both in the new store (courtier?) or in the kickstarter pledges, how much did I need to pledge before it was counted in?
