Overall, I don't typically talk about myself much. If you're wanting to get to know me more on a personal level, instead I would encourage you to directly message me either here on the forums, or on Discord.
On a Duchy level, goals and objectives are a bit broad in spectrum, as they well should be. To say that we are looking to be economically focused would be inaccurate, as we're also going to recognize our needs to have military focused groups in the Duchy. Further, we can't really say we're looking for crafters or traders specifically, because we're also looking for researchers and academics. However, to narrow things down as best as possible, below is a list of goals we'd like to achieve, in an ideal environment.
1 - Freedom of Choice Ideally, we'd like for Shadowdale to be a place where any law abiding citizen can comfortably pursue their goals, regardless of what they may be. Within reason, of course.
2 - Economic Stability In support of our first goal, we're striving to make Shadowdale an economically sound and secure Duchy so that citizens have more freedoms. To this end, we're also looking to establish exceptional trade relationships with the Kingdom of Bordweall, our northern neighbors, and to maintain these relationships in the long run.
3 - Physical Security Further, we recognize that there is going to be a need for military prowess, to back and support the economy, and the autonomy of the citizens. To this end, we aim to establish a powerful Duchy Army, and to house the sheriffs, barons/baronesses, and other defensive personnel required to protect our assets.

The history of the Knoob family stretches back over several generations. Ever loyal to their rightful Kings and Queens, they have been the firm bedrock which the Kingdom was built upon. Many Knoobs distinguished themselves with valor and bravery on the field of battle, and their Duchy of Shadowdale has been earned and paid for thrice over in blood, sweat and tears. However, the future of Shadowdale came into question just over 100 years ago.
At that time, Duke Gerard Knoob was one of King Delafonte’s closest military advisers in the Kingdom of Arthos. Although some doubted the King’s sanity, the ever-loyal Knoobs stood by their King in the face of a rebellion - the Richfort merchant family had turned traitor and were dead-set on overthrowing the rightful King. Sadly, following years of conflict, and despite the best efforts of Shadowdale and other loyal Duchies, the Kingdom of Arthos fell. Duke Knoob knelt before the conquering King Richfort, and offered him his sword in surrender. Much to his surprise, Mardrem Richfort returned his blade to him, and vouched that he had room in the newly forged Kingdom of Kairos for a man of honor and integrity. Gerald swore fealty to his new King, and the Duchy of Shadowdale lives on in Kairos to this day.
