COMMUNITY - FORUMS - ANGELICA GENERAL
so much unclaimed territory

So finally got in today to lay claim to land in game. i noticed there is a ton of land open for claims. Is this any indication of the size of the land versus the actual population for game? Here i thought i was late to the party for missing communications about claims, but seems its nothing to even be concerned about!

Thoughts?

For Angelica with just 46% of counties and 17% of settlements claimed there are many great spots left.

Heck, even being picky will leave you with a lot of options.

As of the moment - this date,

  • 1032 of 6099 settlements claimed

  • 799 of 1728 counties claimed (many as multies)

There is still the upcoming settlers of Elyria (dutch auction) event coming up so a lot of the counties and settlements are expected to be claimed at that time. DSS was for people that had already purchased titles.

Supposedly, NPCs will take over the unfilled spots after everyone else picks. How that will look and what they will actually do re: land management has not been explained.

There should be a lot of social mobility on Angelica as a result of all those NPCs, which is good for players who want to start at the bottom and work their way up.

I think it's because players don't really understand what all CoE has to offer. Most people are picking locations that just make sense to them and everyone is packing into the "good spots". Traders want sea access/trade routes, a lot of people want to be near their kingdoms capitals, and minerals seem to be really important to people. NPCs will take over, players may push them out later, when we get something playable we'll see more people pick up titles maybe.

I hope the vast tracts of NPC lands will result in us being able to claim lateral. I’d love to buy another county in the Duch auction, but at present, this doesn’t seem an option.

Nope, can't do that in the auction but you can work to expand in-game.

You can create a second account get a bloodline package and then buy the county. Make the second account part of family and in the next generation one person is inheriting everything.

The restriction that we can only bu up if it is possible, is a stupid restriction.

I think its great there is so many open settlements/counties, it gives the happy wanderer a chance to work his way up to eventually enter into the ranks of nobility himself if he chooses.

Because NA-E is like a magnet for most NA groups imo.

I hope SBS thins out the settlements that are unclaimed. First of all there are some that want a spot to build their own settlement maybe, second we got places to discover, third it will widen the distances for traveling, fourth certain ressources are still up to be discovered. Even if the map resembles a world, I doubt 6000+ settlements are a good estimation... kinda modern state of placements. Habitability was way rougher in the old ages....

You also have to think, a lot of those npc settlements will be raided, looted, depopulated, and burned to the ground by morons that love mindless destruction.
