The List of Heroes

Contact those shown in list below.

It is a growing list of involved Ashlanders with the most activity to cure the searing plague. Use their Discord contact info to ask them for their plague or purity trade links.

The below Ashlanders are sorted by their profession to ease cooperation in this spearhead effort for the cure.

Herbalist - Sage

No Elyrian vista is left untouched by the plague. Its infestation into the most secluded environs has brought these herbalists and sages to the masses, to invoke their wise and age-old practices to heal the plague-touched.

Trade with these Ashlanders to strongly increase the cure bar, and sages to grant additional purity tokens and remove from their trade partner unwanted plague tokens.

Sintax - Sintax#2924 - Sage

Sintax is the count of the county known as The Vale of Vainglory. It is an economic keystone in the heartlands of the Duchy of Ignis, replete with resplendent wealth. During The Searing Plague, Sintax’s ancestors were among Ashland sages who were recognized with Ashland’s highest accolades any could receive in the healing arts.

Silvia - Xeyska#0101 - Sage

Silvia is the duchess of Fioralba. Known in Ashland as the Flower of Dawn, Fioralba covers a vast landscape. When ill Ashlanders wailed in agony, it was here that Fioralbans rallied to the call for a cure. In the county of Chrysanthe, in the duchy capital of Honnleath, Silvia’s ancestors put their natural prowess toward research and botanical knowledge to use, purifying swathes of settlements against the putrid onslaught of the plague.

Mayor Dave Poleon - Davepoleon#6818 - Sage

Mayor Dave Poleon cultivates vineyards on the rolling hills in the shadow of Ambreaux, a town in The Haverland’s Cairnwater County. The Searing Plague was a tremendous shock to the entire continent, and when those of the Haverlands began to perished, few were as deeply touched by the event as Mayor Dave Poleon’s ancestors. Still known for its vineyards then, the Poleon family put their closely guarded knowledge to use, treating the ill with the unique properties found in their harvest of grapes, but some say it was greater thanks to vibrant hunting tradition and collection of wild trollmouth salamanders, and salve created from their prized secretions.

Mayor Otto - Mayor Otto#5156 - Herbalist

Mayor Otto sits in the town of Carse, in the rich county of Drakemoore, in the immense duchy of Sanctaphandri. Seated in the midst of Sanctaphandri’s breadbasket, Otto’s ancestors rose to fight the plague from within Carse. Their efforts had perhaps the most indelible impact on the survival of many, as their achievements kept thousands from starvation. It is thanks to Mayor Otto’s ancestors many Drakemoore farming communities feed thousands of Ashlanders today.

Narthesis - Narthesis#7935 - Herbalist

Nathesis Grundhammer, who is the indomitable leader of Silverdeep, hails from a cherished lineage spreading across the County Iblia, in Fioralba. During the tragedy of The Searing Plague, his ancestors were an uncompromised pillar that held a swathe of Fioralba above the worst the pestilence could muster. The encyclopedic knowledge of Elyria, shared between most Fioralbans, meant Silverdeep could quickly become a redoubt against ill, and once fortified turned on the offensive tending to Ashland’s sick in that most dire time. Today, Silverdeep remains a pillar of the Ashland community.

Count Wise of Valycia - Count Wise of Valycia#5638 - Sage

Count Wise reigns over Inklingshire, a county deep within Valycia of Ashland. Inklingshire is a place that has long been intertwined with Wise’s ancestral family business, Trotter & Tollers. Spanning centuries, through ups and downs, this bedrock institution of the region faced its greatest challenge during The Searing Plague, when sickness stunned virtually all peoples of Elyria. Trotter & Tollers was quick to employ innovative curative techniques, which they were able to infuse with a local beverage called, Brimstout. Today, the county capital of Hembrink is a tourist destination for Ashlanders to come and imbibe the famous Brimstout.

Guard - Soldier

Deeply affected by the plague in their home, these Ashlanders stand their posts, or answer their liege, taking to the streets to curb the mayhem this plague has caused.

A trade with one of these members strongly increases the cure bar, or decreases the outbreak bar, and has a chance of granting purity tokens to trade partners.

Baron Calvin Laskard - laskaland#1301 - Soldier

Laskard is the baron of Winchester, perched in the heighs of County Eresford in The Haverlands. It sports a sprawling farming community and garrison of soldiers, all thanks to the efforts of Baron Calvin Laskard’s ancestors during The Searing Plague. When the wailing cries of the plagued was followed by the shrieks of storefront owners condeming looters, Laskard’s ancestors brought order to the County of Eresford. His ancestor’s example is one that discplined soldiers all over Ashland follow today.

Regnier Blackfyre - NightlyAxe#3411 - Soldier

Regnier Blackfyre inherits leadership to Knights of the Eternal Flame, an order whose origin was ignited during the horrors of The Searing Plague. Regnier Blackfyre’s ancestors, occupied an accomplished barony on the border of the Duchy of Ignis, the royal duchy of Ashland. It was during this time that unrest in The Kingdom of Ashland was at its height. The stability the Duchy of Ignis enjoys today is largely thanks to the steely presence of the Blackfyre’s Knights of the Eternal Flame.

Hermes - Hermes#6424 - Guard

Hermes is a deeply loyal defender of the county seat of Drakemoore County, situated in the Grand Duchy of Sanctaphandri. Hermes hails for a lineage of guardians, reared, generation after generation to be stalwart protectors of stability in the realm. There were few times in history as guards were so desperately needed than when The Searing Plague erupted. Mayhem nearly split this grand county apart, but reliance on the ardent personas of this lineage meant a swift correction against the courses of chaos.

Demonbane - Demonbane#0001 - Soldier

Demonbane champions a virtuous order of knights in the Principality of Valycia, in Ashland. Operating out of an ancient barony, even for the time, Demonbane’s ancestors epitomized the vows of this esteemed order during The Searing Plague. When anarchists began to take advantage of the chaos the disease wrought, the knightly order, with little need for command, stationed itself across several settlements in the deep recesses of Valycia. Their efforts are said to have halted a dangerous coup attempt which would have undoubtedly spelled disaster in this chaotic period in history. Today, this order sustains its vows, inspiring young Valycians to similarly express a devotion to honor.

Baron Talakrin Kerr - Talakrin#9868 - Soldier

Talakrin Kerr is baron of Aramore in Sanctaphandri, of Ashland. There, he and his cohort of soldiers keep vigilant and roving watch on the border of the Kingdom of Ashland. In similar practice, a Kerr family tale describes his ancestors upholding tradition during The Searing Plague—a time when their duty to the Seleücrei family was tested. On order of a hostile neighbor, local agitants became conspirators in Sanctaphandri. This adversary, mistaking calamity for opportunity, expended what organization they could muster to levy mercenaries to raze settlements. A Kerr ancestor called, Shield Lord Tala, the Grand Baron did, however, intercept signs of this brazen move, and when the mercenaries became interlopers, they were sent to an early grave. Today, the Kerr lineage is celebrated in the region for maintaining stability and excellence along the border territories.

Corpsetaker - Undertaker

Once quiet wardens of the cemeteries across Ashland, these Ashlanders have found an increased need for their calling amid the ravaged landscape. Plague has taken away many precious lives. From capitals to hamlets, Elyrians invoke their presence to bring peace to the dead and lift rot from the streets.

Trade with these Ashlanders to generate them purity seals, or importantly reduce your unwanted plague tokens by a large amount.

Rissa - Rissa#1337 - Undertaker

Rissa is a determined and industrious resident of the Duchy of Fioralba. She invests her time as a renown armorer of Ashland, but during The Searing Plague, her ancestors served as undertakers. Natural to Fioralban research initiatives, the efforts of Rissa’s ancestors meant a tragically plentiful supply of cadavers for study of a cure.

Vaku - Vaku#4884 - Undertaker

Vaku is the joy-seeking count of Vivecta County. His ancestors during The Searing Plague filled the great gauntlet tombs of Vivecta with the rotted corpses ravaged by the plague.

Mortician Althana - Julian#0512 - Undertaker

Mortician Althana is held in high regard, largely because he has carried forth a tradition that proved invaluable during The Searing Plague. Few can dare to mock the queer fascination with the dead his ancestors held, because when it came to their disposal, none in Ashland were so widely exposed to the morbid embalming arts and crematory practices of this mortician lineage. When the dead filled the streets of the duchy capital Hearth, in the County of Raenhold, of The Haverlands, the Althana kin poured through like spectres, lifting away the dead in the cold of ashen-nightsky.

Polite Seleücrei - Polite#9559 - Undertaker

Polites Seleücrei’s duchy of Sanctphandri’s Lord of Morning. The Seleücrei ancestors were natural vicars to the ideals passed on from the local saintess, Sanctaphandri, and there are few times in which their ideals best shined than in the darkest hours of The Searing Plague. Seleücrei family marshalled all of Sanctaphandri into action against the horrors of the plague, but among Ashland’s most populous regions, it was hardest hit. Many in Sanctaphandri perished in the early years, as all its heroes struggled to curb the ravaging. The head of the Seleücrei house felt every loss as though it were a close member of family, and out of this tragedy rose a tradition for every head of Seleücrei to lead in eulogies for the masses and prominent members of the Kingdom.

Zsiledifyshk - Zsiledifyshk#6694 - Corpsetaker

Zsiledifyshk is a fletcher well-renowned in The Vale of Vainglory, in the Duchy of Ignis, in Ashland. He carries an heirloom tale, passed on from the dreary days of The Searing Plague. As the tale goes, the affliction presented itself during an archery tournament, days in procession. With many people there, patrons became first amused by a nonsensical tangent made by the tournament announcer, but quickly distressed over the following frightful and chaining delirium that overtook the crowd. Clamor turned into fighting, then bloodshed, and when the tournament grounds were quiet—and, when the damage lay there clearly visible, it was but the craftspeople in far away tents who had to dispose of their heroes and friends. Today, this circulating tale in The Vale of Vainglory is a reminder that when the ambitious fall, it is the meek who inherit the realm.

Nurse - Plague Doctor

The apothecaries of Ashland have longed honed the healing efforts, and in this perilous era, their skills have rose in high demand. With masks filled with incense to brave the stink of plague-ridden streets, these helpers amble into the homes of the most needy and treat their ills as best as their study in medicine allows.

Trade with a nurse is a comfort to the dying, and both increases the cure bar while decreasing the outbreak bar. A plague doctor may additionally receive purity tokens.

Count Colton Long - Count Long#2842 - Plague Doctor

Count Colton Long is an an energetic leader who head the crucial Ashland county of County Wyrmar, nestled in the Duchy of Sanctaphandri. It is a county that holds research, medicine, and military endeavors as its primary focus, in addition to all the amenities expected of a county. His ancestors were prominent doctors during the pestilent times of The Searing Plague.

Wrenn - Wrenn#7792 - Nurse

Wrenn’s family has long resided along the roads leading into the Barony of Mældunesburh. Situated in the county of Drakemoore, the bread basket of Sanctaphandri, Wrenn’s roots stretch deep. It was her ancestors, who during the critical moments of the outbreak turned the roads the webbed all of Ashland into a hospice of sorts. Where there were hobbling ill just trying to find home, Wrenn’s ancestors propped up tents and cared for these plagued in their last moments. Today in Sanctaphandri, hospitality services are a reflection of the way her family reformed the care for one’s neighbors.

Sarvantus - Sarvantus#1733 - Nurse

Sarvantus Voidbane, resident to Ashcrown, the capital of The Kingdom of Ashland, today serves as a celebrated swordsmith. His origin, however, follows an interesting tale of loyalty to the crown. It was during The Searing Plague that the Voidbane ancestors applied their art of swordcraft to bring repose to those whom their family discovered were too far gone. A member of the royal family called for the humane end of a family member by use of a Voidbane blade. These swords, renown for their sharpness, and with the delusion invoked by the plague helped numerous victims easily pass over, peacefully into afterlife, and today are cherished for their place in that turbulent time.

Count Andreas Crowley - Count Andreas Crowley#1170 - Plague Doctor

Andreas Crowley is the well-connected count of Osthelia County, a community that is deeply entrenched in mysterious tradition. When tragedy struck it was the way of Crowley’s ancestors to turn inward. Roads emptied and nights seemed to last longer beneath the thick canopy. Osthelian neighbors retell the story, emphasizing the concern of whether or not all Osthelia succumbed to The Searing Plague, but after a year of near silence, the first of its riders approached the wailing settlements of the near countryside. These white-beaked riders applied a highly effective regimen of poultices that seemed to entirely reverse the effects of the affliction. Today, Osthelians are revered for their alchemical prowess, their recipe for mastery is shrouded almost entirely by a black wing of secrecy.

Milevan Faent - Adran06#1992 - Plague Doctor

Milevan is a clever blacksmith, whose lineage truly came to prominence during The Searing Plague. Rooted in Osthelia County, in the city of Alnwick, it is said that when the plague struck, it was nigh impossible to guard oneself from contracting the affliction. It was then from the Ebonwing Court that Milevan’s ancestors were approached for a solution. The unique answer was this: an armor set, metallic, polished black, and filled with a layer of unique resin. A host of these pieces of armor, expensive, yet effective, saw to a rapid eradication of the plague in Alnwick. Today, this armor has mostly left vogue, for cheaper more effective garbs to employ in the healing arts, though some stubborn traditionalists can be spotted in cumbersome healing plate.

Memao - Memao#5289 - Plague Doctor

Memao is a skilled tailor. A resident to Fioralba, Memao inherits a sentimental pattern, passed from generation to generation. Despite long being a wellspring of knowledge, Fioralba during The Searing Plague did suffer from demagogues who rose to prominence in the confusion of calamity. Scorning the vectors of education, they deceived many of the hardest hit, convincing them to set ablaze entire neighborhoods, destroying stocks of fabrics and clothing, until such time many communities were clothed with nothing but the rags on their backs. Memao’s ancestors took a noble challenge to dispel the lies and repair the defrauded communities by producing an extensive stock of clothing and teaching the family of afflicted to how best serve their loved ones in their disenfranchised condition. Today, Memao serves a region of Fioralba with deep memory of this service, with the same affordably produced garments.

Layote Cavalleria - SpearMaester#2448 - Plague Doctor

Layote Cavalleria is the head of a nomadic house that calls Fioralba its home. At the time of The Searing Plague, the Cavalleria family still roamed the countryside on the backs, and in companionship with the most cleverly tamed creatures. Even for the frequently moving, The Searing Plague spared no one. When the first of the Cavalleria identified this tragedy affected all of their home, they answered their unspoken duty to roam Fioralba and as a caravan served as healers. Their peculiar mix of veterinary insight and rugged experience meant was a boon. Today, Fioralbans remember the Cavalleria family when they share lessons on a need to break convention, if it means progressing medicine.

Peasant MarjuGarzet - MarjuGarzet#0826 - Nurse

Aelwyn Ceinwen - Aelwyn Ceinwen#7437 - Plague Doctor

The List of Afflicted

Contact those shown in list below.

It is a growing list of involved Elyrians with the most activity, driven to cure their affliction of The Searing Plague. Use their Discord contact info to ask them for their plague or purity trade links.

The below Ashlanders are sorted by their profession to ease cooperation in this spearhead effort for the cure.

Carrier - Plague Bringer

All hands were summoned to fight the plague, and some who answered carried the plague themselves. Often the family of menn perished to pestilence, these Elyrians fought their affliction to the very end—and some are remembered for their bravery in Ashland.

Raychel - Raychel#5906 - Carrier

Excellence in her field brought Raychel to review the volumes of codexes in Ashland, and therein discovered an undeniably enticing thread of information. It so happened, a distant ancestor of Raychel once held prominent position in Ashland’s noble lineage. In the 3rd century of the Fourth Era, The Searing Plague infected a stronghold this ancestor oversaw. There is record her ancestor was rapidly infected, though despite being a carrier of the disease, she persevered to secure a future for her vassals. A source of inspiration for Raychel, today her ancestor’s story speaks to the selflessness of many who endured widespread devastation.

Cultist - Foreign Agent

Desperation for salvation drove ravaged faithful, and even the long faithless Elyrians toward seductive cults. Cults that answered the wide-spread tragedies were often incidentally helpful toward the securing the cure, as they ensured their believers were well cared for. Similarly, insular foreign agents designed methods of marshalling a cure for those who were closest to them, if not for just themselves.

Drexarg - drexarg#8297 - Cultist

Drexarg, a well-travelled and tenacious warrior availed himself to Ashland’s long-chronicled history. Ashland records during the era of The Searing Plague, over 600 years ago, revealed an ancestor with a peculiar note—a distant father to Drexarg was an ancestor who contracted the plague in the early days, and around himself erected a cult of power, preserved through duels. Attracted to this ancestor’s strength, plague sufferers re-organized their efforts to pursue a cure where structured religion failed. Today, his ancestor’s story is a lesson on the importance of formidable leadership.

Larhanya - Larhanya_Theliel#4479 - Cultist

Larhanya, who operated a vineyard in the Ashlands, was approached by an affluent businessperson who expressed to her a high bid for her cottage, her farmland and all the assets attached. Such a notably lucratrative sale this would be, it was hard not to imagine what the newfound wealth could buy, except for Larhanya, because attached to her farm was a priceless history. Held in her family for generations was a shrine on her property, maintained since the times of The Searing Plague. She showed this fragment of a bygone era to the business person, and to him, she described the invaluable service her farm served as sanctuary to the forsaken plagued of her county. Today, shrines everywhere in Ashland are maintained for their cultural significance, and the role they play in moments of scarce morality.

Looter - Thief

When Elyrians saw the wealthy shut out the afflicted, they stood up to act for a cure. This was a time when vile thievery was transformed by noble intention. From rich to poor, looters and thieves ensured the wealth changed hands, if only to save one’s immediate family from The Searing Plague.

Aqua - Aqua#6737 - Looter

Aqua, ventured to Ashland to increase one’s knowledge as any bard might, and nose-deep in a dusty tome of an Ashland library saw the most unexpected marginalia—during The Searing Plague, a distant ancestor of hers documented the impressive theft of a particularly wealthy manse. In the description were details on the effective paths to enter any well-guarded structure. In the contents, it was revealed her ancestor went by the notorious persona, “Candle Snuffer,” a moniker to insult selfish Ashlander nobility of the time, who cared only to fortify themselves in riches, illuminated by candlelight. Today, the persona is a ghost story used to scare young nobles into being more charitable.

RavenMocker - RavenMocker#9341 - Looter

A search for inspiration brings many artists to museums, like the one in Sanctaphandri, wherein, Raven the Tailor examined a curious quilt aged 600 years, produced at the time of The Searing Plague. The item, awash in brilliant thread, tells a story of sorrow—how in a slum of Sanctaphandri, a selfish mayor did much too little to intervene in the dangers of plague. It remarks about how the entire suffering community bonded together in their grief, to protect themselves, to create this quilt, and many like it. Today, the item serves as an expression of community, scorned with indignity.

Fazanatox - Fazanatox#3171 - Looter

Fazanatox, a curious traveller, enamored with tales of the First and Second Age, when magic was real, found his way into Ashland, in pursuit of a rare phoenix. Outside a menagerie, the zookeeper explained to Fazanatox that unlike its astrological symbol, a phoenix is but a natural creature, well-studied—not magical. The zookeeper continued to share that, at the time of The Searing Plague, some pet phoenixes were roundly stolen on suspicion of magical properties—cooked, even. It is unclear if any phoenix or part of one could reverse the effects of the illness, but its rarity and value could have perhaps paid toward some cure efforts. Thus, just as then, Ashlanders sometimes use an idiom, of “cooked his phoenix”, to describe ruined chances, just as one might have by cooking their phoenix instead of selling it.

Atavism - Atavism#5027 - Looter

Finding wealthy buyers of general supplies often means a journey to Ashland, as was taken by Atavism, who in his travels entered the villa of a private collector. His business, sometimes marked for boring small talk, was delightfully interrupted by the display of an interesting locket six centuries old, dating it as an artifact of The Searing Plague. The collector shared how the item was famous, not for its content, but for the many hands it passed through, as apparently a small sigil on its cover showed it was an identifier for members of a smuggler ring during that disastrous period. The smugglers were said to not be miscreants, but truly loyal to their tribe, acquiring supplies for the desperate when a foreign interloper ruled the town. Today, the story is a warning to foreign rulers to be diligent and fair in their decisions affecting natives.

Weirdee - weirdee#4796 - Looter

The Ashland wilderness summons many to its serene vistas, as it has with Weirdee—who when ranging, remembered a haunting warning passed on by the survivors of The Searing Plague. A patient observer, Weirdee peered into the vibrant landscape activity. Keen eyed, she could discern the crawl of tiny life, the prowl of different predators, and the scatter of oblivious prey. None of it would exist, had the outbreak overtaken Elyria. The horrible description, granted from her ancestral mother, remarked that the pestilence corrupted the lush heart of the wild, turning even those in most rugged of travellers inward on settlements, if only to steal for another day at survival. Today, not enough in Ashland remember how the barren condition of the plaguelands meant suffering for all.

Heat - (heat)#4827 - Looter

Tavern owners consistently seek the performance of new and reliable talent, and when a bard with a compelling rhapsode on The Searing Plague approached Heat, it was an easy offer to accept. For a sample of the performance, Heat requested to hear the overture to the spoken poem. This piece, requiring eight days of attention to hear in full, would have made a Virtori song-priest dizzy, but to indulge Heat with the request, she gave best abridged narrative she could muster. She spoke in melodic cadence, going over impressive points, and how much of it was true was easily dismissible, because by the time the bard shared on the dramatic rise of a Brudvir heroine, from looter rags to ducal splendor, by smuggling and selling casks of delicious Trollmouth spirits, and curing a country with mirthful drink—Heat was taken, and fast to confirm her hire. Today, many epics have coursed through Ashland Elyrian culture, and some of the most exciting take the period of The Searing Plague as their setting.

Twisted Elm - Twisted Elm#7365 - Looter

Barons frequently send their second-in-command to speak with neighboring leaders, as was the case with Twisted Elm, who ventured into conversation with a desperate Ashland count. The count shared that during The Searing Plague, his ancestors kept his domain from utter collapse, communicating that while looting was rampant, and his ancestors were mostly nonexistent observers, they retained inheritance when the whole thing blew over—but this immediate problem the count had was without intervention from Elm’s barony—greedy degenerates, the count continued, would compromise his reign over his county. Knowing something on the matter, Elm explained that strong links, and coordination, will enhance teamwork, and ensure success no matter if practiced by degenerates or governments and that speaking to Elm was a good first step. Today, defeating the outbreak of The Searing Plague is used as a lesson in cooperation by those who look closely enough and are without absent mind.

Kaius - DJ - D. Revan#1113 - Looter

Military excellence demands insight into unsavory practice, and to achieve this, Kaius studied military action during the most tumultuous period in all Elyria, in an Ashland academy. Pouring over decaying guard house records, Kaius gleaned the pressure it took to completely collapse order within a city. In rapid succession, conflict drove leadership’s absence, credibility in authority wavered, and misinformation spread, and when neighbor harmed neighbor for naught but bread, the veneer of civilization vanished. Civilians grasped at survival for themselves and stole what they could to see another day, and by contrast, all that survived in Ashland was thanks to escalated leadership, demonstrations of integrity, and reliance in community. Today, careful examination of historical records from the time of The Searing Plague show Ashland’s military that there is more to stability and victory than crass displays of brawn.

Forthright - Forthright#4918 - Looter

Tragedy of The Searing Plague uprooted menn from their home, and it was tragedy that sent Forthright to Ashland. In his travels, he met a Virtori scholar, who listening to his plight, shared a story from the the most difficult hardship to hit Elyria. The Virtori scholar, in his story, evoked the names of the Virtues” Asuduuryn, Modestos, and Harbos—and shared how when plague swept over Ashland, diverse communities condemned the Virtues, and felt, that like a wheel, the firmament overturned and the Vices reigned over all actions. Greedy, slovenly, wrathful and every manner of wretched villains ran rampant—but, altogether nothing can defeat good deeds in the bleak present. That trust meant even a tinge of Virtuous hand can be seen in a dark action, and thus one can only hope his or her mistakes result in a good outcome—echoing a strong belief that the Virtues influence all handiwork. Today, many forms of tribulation turn Ashlanders to the Virtori faith, as occurred six centuries ago when the outbreak was halted, and all Elyria rose from the ashes.

Faith - Fa1th#4153 - Looter

Faith, who owned an inn deep inside a city of Ashland, did consult a Kypiq architect for renovation who then gave her a stunning surprise. As she showed the inquisitive Kypiq the premises, the Kypiq paused when near a stairwell, and so too did Faith bemused by his sudden curiosity. As the Kypiq felt the low of the wall, a stone fell back, followed by a whole section that hinged away from his hand. With a yank of a torch, the two explored the secret passage, and the story of the chamber became apparent: Following The Searing Plague, this chamber, which was used by smugglers to conceal stolen supplies used in an effort to sustain the little endurance its old inhabitants. Ubiquitously in Ashland today, secret chambers are speckled in all forms of construction, disguising for each one a marvellous story to tell.

Somerholdt - Somerholdt#1889 - Looter

The codex Somerholdt held was the catalyst to his adventure in Ashland. Wayfaring in the countryside for months, he searched for what the codex described as a thin root, which when made as a tonic with choice ingredients, was both a pain-easer and stimulant, but churned at a person’s mouth an unpalatable froth. As an alchemist’s apprentice, it was Somerholdt’s mission to familiarize himself with these ingredients described in his codex—so many of which were well-documented during The Searing Plague, when it seemed all of Elyria leaned deeply into discerning a cure from the alchemical arts. Today, institutions across Ashland promote continuous research in all manner of curatives, never-again inclined to suffer a plague unprepared.

Rumormonger - Traitor

Certainty vanished from Elyria in the first weeks of The Searing Plague, giving rise to a confused class of agitators. When they surrounded themselves with the afflicted, their demagoguery became extremely harmful to the cure effort, and thereby necessitated leaders of the cure effort find their dens of mischief and restore stability.
